The Sofitel Hotel fire has left part of the building badly damaged.
Sofitel Hotel on Bolton St has been evacuated from 9pm on Friday due to a fire, reportedly caused by an indoor barbecue.
The fire service confirmed that the blaze was under control from 10.30, although photos from 11.15 show the blaze still alight.
